Great Falls International Airport sits about three miles southwest of central Great Falls, on the plains south of the Missouri River. Airline flights have served the city since the 1930s, and the airport was initiated in November 1928.

It handled about 371,000 passengers in 2024 and 33,605 aircraft operations. Alaska Airlines, Allegiant Air, Delta Connection, United Airlines and United Express connect it with Seattle/Tacoma, Las Vegas, Phoenix/Mesa, Salt Lake City and Denver, with seasonal flying to Chicago O'Hare.

The airport has two asphalt runways: 3/21 at 10,502 by 150 feet and 17/35 at 6,030 by 150 feet. The long runway also supports the Montana Air National Guard's 120th Airlift Wing, which flies C-130 Hercules aircraft from Great Falls Air National Guard Base on the same field.

The passenger terminal dates from 1975 and was designed by Davidson-Kuhr Architects of Great Falls. It displays 883 model airplanes built and painted by local resident Bary Poletto between 1977 and 2003, part of a collection believed to be the largest of its kind.
