Meridian Regional Airport lies about 3.5 miles southwest of Meridian in Lauderdale County, Mississippi. The city founded the field in 1928, and it opened in November 1930. It is named for Al and Fred Key, the brothers who set a flight endurance record there in 1935. Delta started the first scheduled service in 1930.

The airport is a joint civil and military field. The Mississippi Air National Guard's 186th Air Refueling Wing is based here, along with an Army National Guard aviation unit. Military flying makes up most of the traffic: of 86,751 aircraft operations in the 12 months to March 2021, 71 percent were military and 25 percent general aviation. Scheduled airline flights were under 1 percent.

United Express, operated by SkyWest, flies to Houston Intercontinental under the Essential Air Service program, which subsidizes the route. Runway 1/19 is 10,003 feet long, the longest public-use runway in Mississippi. The 1959 terminal has been renovated six times, and the Meridian Airport Authority received a $7.5 million federal grant in 2024 toward a replacement.
