Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport sits about 6 km northeast of downtown Gulfport on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. It is the Gulf Coast's main commercial airport and the second busiest in Mississippi, with 685,923 passengers in 2022. Marketed as FlyGPT, it connects the coast to hubs in Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston, plus leisure routes to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa.

The field began in 1942 as a training base for B-25 and B-29 flight crews. The War Department transferred it to the City of Gulfport in 1949, and Southern Airways and National Airlines began passenger and cargo service in the early 1950s. Gulfport, Biloxi and Harrison County created the Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport Authority in 1977 to run it.

The airport has two runways. Runway 14/32 is 9,002 ft long and carries an ILS approach at both ends, which suits large military and cargo aircraft. Runway 18/36 is 4,935 ft. Military flying is a large share of traffic: the Mississippi Air National Guard and the Gulfport Combat Readiness Training Center are based on the field. Hurricane Katrina closed the airport on 29 August 2005, and commercial flights resumed on 8 September 2005.
