Mid Delta Regional Airport Guide
The airport sits in unincorporated Washington County, about five miles northeast of Greenville in the Mississippi Delta. It operated as Mid Delta Regional Airport until 2011. The field began in the early 1940s as Greenville Air Force Base and turned mainly commercial in the early 1970s.
The site covers roughly 2,000 acres, and about 600 of them are leased to an agricultural research operation. The air force legacy shows in the pavement: the main runway is 8,001 feet long and the second is 7,019 feet, both longer than most regional airports need. The airport has an attached restaurant and a display of military-era artifacts.
Scheduled passenger service is limited. Denver Air Connection flies nonstop to Atlanta, with onward flights to Dallas/Fort Worth, under the federal Essential Air Service program. Mississippi Department of Transportation records show 5,829 passenger boardings as of November 2024. General aviation and military flying make up most of the traffic.
