Nantucket Memorial Airport sits about 5 km southeast of Nantucket town on an island 48 km off the Massachusetts coast. There is no road or rail link to the mainland, so the airport is one of two ways on and off the island, the other being the ferry. The site covers roughly 490 hectares.

The airport is owned by the Town of Nantucket and run by the Nantucket Memorial Airport Commission. It recorded 149,176 commercial passengers in 2024, up 11 percent from 2023, and 117,204 aircraft operations in 2025. Traffic peaks in summer, when July 2025 averaged 356 operations a day. Corporate and private flying adds to the airline traffic, which makes it the second-busiest airport in Massachusetts after Logan.

Two asphalt runways serve the field: Runway 6/24 at 6,303 ft and Runway 15/33 at 4,500 ft. The single terminal was expanded in 2009 with an 18,000 sq ft addition to the original 12,000 sq ft building. Airline service is a mix of year-round regional flights and seasonal routes from larger carriers.
