Monroe Regional Airport Guide
Monroe Regional Airport (ICAO KMLU) is a city-owned airport inside the Monroe city limits in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. It sits about 3 nautical miles east of the central business district at an elevation of 79 feet. The field began as Selman Army Airfield in August 1942, a cadet training centre for the U.S. Army Air Forces, and returned to civil control on July 31, 1946.
Two asphalt runways, each 150 feet wide, serve the airport: 4/22 at 7,504 feet and 14/32 at 6,301 feet. An air traffic control tower operates from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The terminal, built between 2009 and 2011, covers nearly 60,000 square feet and has six gates, four with jet bridges.
Scheduled service is regional. American Eagle flies to Dallas/Fort Worth and Delta Connection flies to Atlanta, operated mainly by Envoy Air and Endeavor Air. The airport recorded 204,294 enplanements in 2024. General aviation, military and air taxi traffic make up most of the roughly 35,800 annual aircraft operations, and FedEx Feeder flights carry cargo to Memphis. The airport promotes itself as the birthplace of Delta Air Lines, and its logo is a variant of the Delta mark.
