Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is located in Boone County, Kentucky, approximately 21 km south of downtown Cincinnati. Despite its name, the airport sits entirely in Kentucky — serving the greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky metro area across the Ohio River. It opened for commercial operations in 1947 and has grown into one of the busiest cargo airports in North America.

CVG is the primary hub for Amazon Air, which constructed a 280,000 square metre sorting facility on 457 hectares of airport land, capable of parking over 100 aircraft. DHL Aviation also operates a major cargo facility on site. The airport handles around 9 million passengers annually across a single passenger terminal with two concourses connected by an underground people mover.

The airport is operated by the Kenton County Airport Board (CVG Airport Authority) and covers more than 7,000 acres. Four runways support both passenger and heavy cargo operations. CVG has invested in a multi-year terminal modernisation program — Elevate CVG — which includes expansion of the ticketing area, new baggage handling systems, and concourse upgrades.
