Yampa Valley Airport sits at about 6,600 feet in Hayden, Colorado, in the Yampa River valley of Routt County. It is the only airport in northwest Colorado with scheduled airline service and the main gateway to the Steamboat Resort ski area, roughly 25 miles to the east.

A single asphalt runway, 10/28, measures 10,000 by 150 feet and handles narrow-body jets. The terminal has seven gates and nine commercial aircraft parking spots, with no jet bridges. A 2020 expansion added the seventh gate and more ticketing space. A private ramp holds up to 40 business jets. The FAA recorded 15,497 aircraft operations in 2021, an average of 42 a day, and 150,142 passenger boardings that year.

Service follows the ski season. Alaska, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United fly seasonal routes from hubs and leisure markets, and United and Southwest operate year-round. Winter weekends bring the heaviest traffic, while spring months see far fewer travelers.
