Boone County Airport sits in the Ozark hills of northern Arkansas, about four miles northwest of Harrison, at an elevation of 1,365 feet. It is also called Boone County Regional Airport. Its catchment reaches across the state line, and the airport also serves travellers heading to Branson, Missouri.

Harrison businessmen built the field with stock sold in 1944. It passed into municipal control in 1947, and Boone County took it over in 1966. Central Airlines began scheduled flights in 1957, and Frontier Airlines continued the service into the 1970s. Later carriers flew under the federal Essential Air Service program. SeaPort Airlines flew Cessna Caravans to Memphis until it entered bankruptcy in September 2016, and Contour Airlines was chosen that October. Southern Airways Express now operates the scheduled flights to Dallas/Fort Worth and Memphis, with seasonal service to Hot Springs.

The airport covers 425 acres and has one asphalt runway, 18/36, which is 6,161 feet long and 150 feet wide. An instrument landing system serves runway 36. The FAA lists it as a national/regional airport in its 2021-2025 plan. The airport recorded about 10,750 aircraft operations in 2021, of which 68 percent were general aviation, and 48 aircraft were based there in April 2022. A $7 million federal grant announced in 2025 funds a rebuilt terminal, new hangars and runway rehabilitation.
