Scammon Bay Airport guide

Scammon Bay Airport serves the Yup'ik village of Scammon Bay in the Kusilvak Census Area of western Alaska. The state-owned, public-use airport sits beside the village near the Bering Sea coast. No road connects Scammon Bay to the rest of Alaska, so the airstrip carries passengers, mail and freight.

The airport has one gravel runway measuring about 3,000 by 75 feet, with medium-intensity edge lights, a lighted wind indicator and RNAV (GPS) approaches. A weather station reports on 118.425 MHz and the common traffic frequency is 123.0. There is no control tower and the field is unattended. A designated water landing area for floatplanes is charted alongside the runway.

Grant Aviation flies scheduled service to Bethel, Chevak and Hooper Bay. Federal traffic data for 2025 counted 4,960 passengers departing on passenger-configured aircraft. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities owns and maintains the field. Its codes are SCM (IATA), PACM (ICAO) and SCM (FAA).
