Port Heiden Airport guide

Port Heiden Airport (ICAO PAPH, FAA PTH) is a state-owned public airport about six nautical miles northeast of Port Heiden, a village on the Alaska Peninsula in the Lake and Peninsula Borough. The field sits 95 feet above sea level and covers about 3,500 acres, far more land than its traffic needs. That size comes from its military past. It began as Fort Morrow Army Airfield during World War II, closed after the war, and later supported a Cold War radar station from 1958.
