Marshall Don Hunter Sr Airport guide

Marshall Don Hunter Sr. Airport serves the Yup'ik village of Marshall on the lower Yukon River in western Alaska. The public-use field lies about 3.7 km southeast of the village centre. Marshall has no road link to the rest of the state, so the airstrip carries most passengers, mail and freight in and out of the community.

The airport has one gravel runway, 7/25, measuring about 3,200 by 100 feet, with medium-intensity edge lights. A GPS approach is published for runway 7. There is no control tower and no staffed facility, and pilots use the common traffic frequency 122.9. The runway has cracking along its edges, and the airport is listed for rehabilitation work. The state airport system lists it as activated in March 2003.

Scheduled air taxi flights link Marshall with Bethel and neighbouring villages such as Pilot Station and St. Mary's. Grant Aviation and Ryan Air are the carriers listed for these routes. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Northern Region, owns and operates the field. Its codes are MLL (IATA), PADM (ICAO) and MDM (FAA).
