Hooper Bay Airport guide

Hooper Bay Airport (ICAO PAHP) serves the Yup'ik village of Hooper Bay on the Bering Sea coast of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta in western Alaska. No road connects the village to the rest of the state, so the airstrip carries passengers, mail and freight year-round.

The airport has one gravel runway, 14/32, measuring 3,300 by 75 feet, with medium-intensity edge lights and visual approach slope indicators on both ends. It has no control tower. The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, Central Region, owns it, and the FAA lists its activation date as November 1949.

Scheduled flights are short commuter hops. Grant Aviation links the village with Bethel, the regional hub, and with the nearby villages of Chevak and Scammon Bay. The FAA recorded 4,314 passenger enplanements here in 2023, down from 4,699 in 2022.
