Lviv International Airport guide
Updated 2026-09-27Lviv Danylo Halytskyi International Airport traces its history to 1929, when it opened as Lwów-Skniłów airport on the western edge of the city. It carries the name of Danylo Halytskyi, the medieval prince credited with founding Lviv. A $200 million redevelopment ahead of the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament rebuilt the airfield, and the runway, a 3,305-metre concrete strip designated 13/31, dates from that project.
