Abeid Amani Karume International Airport sits 6 kilometres south of Zanzibar City on Unguja Island, Tanzania. Named in 2010 after Abeid Amani Karume, Zanzibar's first president, the airport was formerly known as Kisauni Airport and Zanzibar International Airport. It is the primary gateway to the Zanzibar Archipelago and Tanzania's second-busiest airport.

The airport has one asphalt runway (3,007 metres) and handled 2.4 million passengers in 2024 — a 23 percent increase over 2023 — reflecting rapid growth in tourism. Over 78 airlines now serve the airport with connections across East Africa, Europe, and the Middle East. Terminal 2 serves domestic routes within Tanzania. Terminal 1, the original British-era building, is now used as airport offices and is no longer open to passengers.
