Çukurova International Airport Guide
Çukurova International Airport opened on 10 August 2024, replacing Adana Şakirpaşa Airport, whose city-centre site left no room to expand. The State Airports Administration (DHMİ) holds regulatory oversight, while KZV Havalimanları — part of the Kozuva Group — built and operates the airport under a build-operate-transfer agreement signed in 2020. The project cost around €244.5 million and sits on roughly 8 million square metres of land in the Tarsus district of Mersin Province.
The airport serves the wider Çukurova region, covering Adana, Mersin, Osmaniye and Hatay provinces. Pegasus Airlines operates as the base carrier. In 2025 the airport handled 5,434,070 passengers, up 182% on 2024, including 1,290,199 international travellers. Aircraft movements reached 34,688 for the year, also sharply higher than 2024.
Two parallel 3,500-metre concrete runways, 03L/21R and 03R/21L, allow simultaneous operations. The single passenger terminal covers 110,000 square metres with a stated annual capacity of 9 million passengers, leaving substantial room to grow beyond current traffic.
