Diyarbakır Airport guide

Diyarbakır Airport serves the city of Diyarbakır in southeast Turkey, on the city's eastern side at an elevation of 686 metres. It opened in 1952 and is owned by the Turkish Air Force. The State Airports Administration (DHMİ) runs the civil terminal, and the 8th Air Wing of the 2nd Air Force Command shares the airfield.

The airport has one concrete runway, 16/34, which is 3,549 metres long. Its terminal has a design capacity of 5 million passengers a year, with separate domestic and international areas. Traffic reached 2,292,693 passengers in 2025, up from 2,148,881 in 2024 and 1,782,236 in 2019. Aircraft movements totalled 14,020 in 2025, a rise of 7% on the year before.

Most flights are domestic. Turkish Airlines, AJet and Pegasus link the city with Istanbul and Ankara, and SunExpress and Pegasus add services to Izmir and Antalya. International routes are mainly to Germany, including Düsseldorf, Cologne and Hannover, with some seasonal flights. The military use of the airfield means that civil operations can be affected by air force activity.
