Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport guide

Updated 2026-10-08

Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport opened in December 1963 at Brnik, replacing the older Polje Airport that had served the city since 1933. It took its current name in 2007, honoring Jože Pučnik, a Slovene dissident and opposition leader, having previously operated as Brnik Airport. During the Ten-Day War in June 1991, two days after Slovenia declared independence, the airport was bombed by the Yugoslav Air Force.
