Örebro Airport guide

Örebro Airport (ICAO ESOE) lies about 10 km southwest of Örebro city in central Sweden. It opened in 1979 and is run by Örebro Läns Flygplats AB. The airport has one asphalt runway, 01/19, which is 3,270 m long.

Passenger traffic is small. Sweden's transport agency counted 80,694 passengers in 2023, most of them on international flights. Scheduled service has centred on low-cost routes, with Lygg flying to Helsinki and Linköping. Sunclass Airlines operates seasonal charters to Mediterranean destinations such as Rhodes, Gran Canaria, Larnaca and Palma de Mallorca. A coach service links the airport with Örebro Central station, timed to Ryanair flights.

Örebro is one of Sweden's designated contingency airports. It must stay open around the clock for air ambulances, firefighting aircraft and other essential flights. The long runway also supports a sizeable cargo operation, and the airport ranks among the larger cargo airports in the country.
