Kassala Airport guide

Kassala Airport (ICAO HSKA) is a public airfield southwest of Kassala, the capital of Kassala State in eastern Sudan. It sits at about 509 metres above sea level on the plain near the Eritrean border, not far from the Taka mountains that rise behind the city.

The airport has one runway. Runway 02/20 is asphalt, about 2,500 metres long and 45 metres wide. That length suits regional turboprops and jets. The government runs the airfield, and no separate owner is recorded.

Scheduled service is thin. Wikipedia lists Tarco Aviation flying to Port Sudan and Badr Airlines flying to Khartoum, with the Khartoum route shown as suspended. Route data from late 2025 shows a single scheduled route to one destination. Passenger and movement statistics are not published, and no operator page describes the terminal.

Travellers should confirm flights directly with the airline before planning a trip, since schedules in Sudan change often and sources disagree on which carriers still operate.
