Seychelles International Airport Guide

Seychelles International Airport sits on the northeast coast of Mahé Island, 11 kilometres southeast of the capital Victoria. It is the only international airport in the Seychelles and the primary entry point for the island nation. The airport operates one runway at 2,997 metres, sufficient for wide-body long-haul aircraft connecting to Europe, the Middle East, and East Africa.

The airport is managed by the Seychelles Airports Authority, established as an independent body on 1 January 2025 following the restructuring of the former Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority. Air Seychelles is the home carrier, providing domestic inter-island services to Praslin as well as regional and international routes. Other carriers include Emirates, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways, and seasonal European charter operators such as Condor and Discover Airlines.

A separate domestic terminal handles inter-island flights to Praslin Island, which runs at peak frequency during international arrival and departure windows. The airport recorded close to one million total terminal passengers in 2023, reflecting strong recovery in tourism since the pandemic.
