Dawadmi Domestic Airport guide

Dawadmi Domestic Airport (ICAO OEDM) serves Dawadmi, a town in Riyadh Province in central Saudi Arabia. It sits on the high plateau at an elevation of 922 metres, about 30 km west of the town centre.

The airport was inaugurated in April 2003 by the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. Saudia flew the first service, carrying 67 passengers from Jeddah, and Dawadmi became the airline's 26th domestic destination. It was designed to handle up to one million passengers a year.

All flights are domestic. Saudia links the airport with Jeddah and Riyadh, and its first-phase plan was four weekly flights, two from each city. The General Authority of Civil Aviation operates it.

The airport has a single asphalt runway, 15/33, measuring 3,050 by 45 metres. It is long enough for large jets, which is far more than the current schedule needs. The terminal has three lounges for arriving and departing passengers.
