Bancasi Airport guide

Bancasi Airport, also called Butuan Airport, is the only airport in Agusan del Norte province and the largest in the Caraga region of northeastern Mindanao. It is a Class 1 principal domestic airport, classified under the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines. The site sits at 43 metres above sea level, near the Bancasi rotunda on the western side of Butuan.

The single asphalt runway, 12/30, is 2,100 metres long. It was extended in 2012 from 6,450 feet. Turn pads were added at both ends in 2018 and 2019, and the first Airbus A321 operations followed in October 2019. That is the largest aircraft type the field handles regularly.

A P24.5 million terminal expansion was completed in December 2022 and inaugurated on 8 March 2023. It raised passenger capacity from 248 to 616 and floor area from 1,440 to 2,016 square metres. Scheduled service is limited to flights from Cebu and Manila, at roughly ten to twelve departures a day. In 2021 the airport recorded 265,124 passengers and 3,540 aircraft movements.
