Padre Aldamiz International Airport guide

Padre Aldamiz International Airport is the gateway to the Madre de Dios region in the Peruvian Amazon. It lies about 7 km from the centre of Puerto Maldonado. The airport carries visitors headed for the rainforest lodges and reserves along the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers, as well as local residents and cargo.

The airport has one concrete runway, 01/19, about 3,500 m long. That length is enough for wide-body aircraft, well beyond what the current domestic flights need. Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú manages the airport under a 25-year concession that began in 2011, and its network includes Arequipa, Ayacucho, Juliaca and Tacna.

Scheduled service is domestic and runs to Lima and Cusco. LATAM Perú flies both routes, and Sky Airline Peru has flown to Cusco since 2025. Traffic is growing: the operator reported about 317,000 passengers for January to June 2026, up 23% on the same months of 2025, the fastest growth in its network. The operator plans to modernise the airport.
