Duqm International Airport Guide

Duqm International Airport opened for scheduled flights in July 2014, initially through a temporary terminal serving the coastal town of Duqm and the special economic zone being built around it. A permanent passenger terminal with two jet bridges replaced the temporary building in September 2018, giving the airport capacity well beyond its current traffic.

The single runway runs 4,000 metres, longer than most runways serving far larger cities, reflecting Oman's plan for Duqm as a heavy-industry and logistics hub anchored by Duqm Port and an adjoining refinery complex. A dedicated cargo building handles up to 25,000 tonnes a year, supporting freight tied to the port and surrounding industrial zone rather than passenger traffic.

Passenger numbers remain modest: SalamAir operates the airport's only scheduled route, a domestic service connecting Duqm to Muscat. Oman Airports Management Company, which also runs Muscat and Salalah airports, operates the facility as part of its regional network serving Oman's Al Wusta coast.
