Nauru International Airport guide

Nauru International Airport (ICAO: ANYN) is the only airport on Nauru, a single-island country in the central Pacific. It lies in Yaren District on the south of the island, a short distance from Parliament House, the police station and a secondary school. The field sits 7 metres above sea level.

The airstrip was built during the Japanese occupation in World War II, using forced labour, and began operating in January 1943. Today the airport has one asphalt runway, designated 12/30, measuring 2,150 metres. The Republic of Nauru Civil Aviation Authority handles airport security and operational management.

Nauru Airlines, the national carrier, uses the airport as its main hub. It flies to Brisbane, Nadi, Suva, Tarawa, Majuro, Pohnpei and Koror. The passenger terminal is small, with a check-in counter, waiting areas, an eatery and a gift shop on the ground floor. Published passenger and movement statistics are not available.
