Namsos Airport guide

Namsos Airport sits at Høknesøra on the Namsen river, about 5 km west of the town centre. It is a small regional airport in Trøndelag county, and it serves the Namdalen district and the surrounding coast. The ICAO code is ENNM.

Construction began in 1967 and the airport opened on 1 July 1968. It was one of the first short-runway airports in Norway. The asphalt runway, 07/25, is under 1,000 metres long, which limits the airport to small turboprops such as the Dash 8. Avinor took over ownership on 1 October 1997.

Widerøe has flown the scheduled routes since the start, except for 1986 to 1988, when Norving flew to Trondheim. Today Widerøe operates under public service obligation contracts with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport and Communications. Trondheim is the main connection, with onward links to the rest of Norway and abroad, and a shorter hop runs up the coast to Rørvik.

Traffic has fluctuated: 45,641 passengers in 2015, a pandemic low of 23,016 in 2020, and 28,067 in 2024. Since September 2022 air traffic services have been run remotely from Avinor's Remote Tower Centre in Bodø, so there is no local control tower. Namdal flyklubb, a local flying club, is also based here.
