Stavanger Airport, Sola is Norway's oldest airport, opened on 29 May 1937 by King Haakon VII. Located 12-14 km southwest of Stavanger city center in the municipality of Sola, it serves the Stavanger-Sandnes metropolitan area and southwestern Norway. It is Norway's third-busiest airport and one of the top 10 in the Nordic countries.

The airport handles approximately 3.9 million passengers per year. A single terminal serves both domestic and international fixed-wing traffic. A separate helicopter terminal, opened in 1989, supports one of Europe's largest offshore helicopter operations — connecting crews to North Sea oil and gas platforms in the Norwegian sector.

Avinor operates the airport as part of its 44-airport network. The busiest route is Stavanger–Oslo Gardermoen, with around 28 daily flights. International destinations span European hubs including Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Helsinki, operated by carriers such as KLM, Lufthansa, LOT Polish Airlines, and Finnair alongside Norwegian, SAS, and Widerøe.
