Uruapan International Airport (ICAO MMPN) sits inside the Uruapan urban area in Michoacán, on the western edge of the Purépecha Plateau. It handles passenger traffic for the avocado-growing region around the city. Air service to Uruapan began in 1937 with a route to Acapulco, and the airport joined the federal ASA network in 1970.

Traffic is modest and has recovered from the 2020 dip. The airport recorded 175,010 passengers and 4,992 aircraft operations in 2025, up from 129,019 passengers in 2020. Volaris is the scheduled carrier, flying to Tijuana and Los Angeles, which reflects the strong travel link between Michoacán and the western United States.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 02/20, which is 2,400 m long. The single two-story terminal has three departure gates and no jet bridges, so passengers walk to their aircraft. The commercial apron holds three narrow-body aircraft.
