Luxembourg Airport sits 6 km east of Luxembourg City, making it one of Europe's most centrally located international airports. Opened in 1946, it operates on a single 4,002-metre runway and handles over 5 million passengers annually across two terminals. The airport is jointly home to Luxair, the national flag carrier, and Cargolux, one of the world's largest all-cargo airlines.

Despite its compact size, Luxembourg Airport ranks among the top five European cargo airports by tonnage, processing over 830,000 tonnes of cargo in 2024.
