Jeju International Airport Guide
Jeju International Airport sits on the northern coast of Jeju Island, about 3 kilometers from downtown Jeju City. It opened for commercial service in 1968 and is owned by South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, with Korea Airports Corporation running day-to-day operations. It ranks as South Korea's second-busiest airport, behind only Incheon.
The airport is the home base for Jeju Air and a focus city for Air Busan, Air Seoul, Asiana Airlines, Eastar Jet, Jin Air, Korean Air and T'way Air. Its domestic connection to Seoul's Gimpo Airport has ranked among the busiest air routes in the world, carrying tens of thousands of passengers a day between the island and the mainland.
Two runways handle both the high-frequency domestic shuttle traffic and a growing set of international routes to mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. Domestic and international flights operate from separate, adjacent terminal buildings rather than shared gates. International arrivals have climbed steadily since regional border restrictions eased, with China, Japan and Hong Kong among the leading source markets.
