Amboseli Airport guide

Amboseli Airport (ICAO: HKAM) is an airstrip inside Amboseli National Park in Kajiado County, southern Kenya, close to the border with Tanzania. It exists mainly to bring safari visitors to the park and its lodges, which sit beneath Mount Kilimanjaro.

The airport has one asphalt runway, designated 08/26, about 1,180 metres long. That length suits light turboprop aircraft rather than jets. Wikipedia lists the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority as the owner, while some travel listings name the Kenya Airports Authority as the manager, so the operating body is not settled in public sources. No public passenger or movement statistics are published.

Scheduled services link the strip to Nairobi Wilson Airport, about 156 km to the north by air. Safarilink Aviation and AirKenya Express fly this route, and Mombasa Air Safari connects it to the coast. There is no terminal building of the kind found at larger airports, so passengers should expect basic facilities and arrange lodge or park transfers in advance.
