Moi International Airport Guide

Moi International Airport serves Mombasa, Kenya's second-largest city and its primary coastal hub. The airport sits approximately 9 km northwest of the city centre on the Mombasa mainland. Built during World War II, it handles both international routes to Europe and the Middle East and domestic connections across Kenya.

The airport is operated by Kenya Airports Authority and was recognised as the Best Airport in Africa (under 2 million passengers) by Airports Council International in 2020. Two active runways support operations, with the main runway stretching 3,350 metres to accommodate wide-body aircraft used on long-haul European charter routes.

Flydubai, Turkish Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, RwandAir, and Kenya Airways operate scheduled international services. European charter carriers including Condor, Discover Airlines, and Neos serve the airport seasonally, reflecting its importance as a gateway to Kenya's coastal tourism region.
