Naha International Airport guide

Updated 2026-10-06

Naha Airport is the main gateway to Okinawa Prefecture, on the southwest coast of Okinawa's main island about 4 km west of central Naha. It began as the Oroku Aerodrome of the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1933. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism owns the airport, and the Japan Air Self-Defense Force shares the airfield, so military and civil flights use the same runways.
