Tancho Kushiro Airport sits about 17 kilometres west-northwest of Kushiro city centre in eastern Hokkaido, Japan. It opened in July 1961 and serves the Kushiro area, including the marshland and national park country around it. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism owns the site, and Hokkaido Airports operates it. The name refers to the tancho, the red-crowned crane that lives in the Kushiro wetlands.

One asphalt runway, 17/35 and 2,500 metres long, handles all traffic. The airport stands 95 metres above sea level. Its single terminal has three levels, three boarding gates and an observation deck on the third floor. The terminal is mainly for domestic flights, with limited customs and immigration for international charter arrivals.

The airport handled 685,379 passengers, 10,043 aircraft movements and 2,452 tonnes of cargo in 2015, the latest figures on the Wikipedia page. Scheduled routes run to Tokyo Haneda, Sapporo Chitose and Sapporo Okadama. Peach Aviation adds seasonal flights to Osaka Kansai and Tokyo Narita. International charter flights from South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong have arrived since 2000.
