Norman Manley International Airport guide

Norman Manley International Airport sits on the Palisadoes, a narrow sand spit that closes off Kingston Harbour and links Port Royal to the rest of Jamaica. The airport opened in 1948 and takes its name from Norman Manley, the Jamaican statesman and former premier. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico, through its local subsidiary PAC Kingston Airport Limited, has owned and operated the facility since 2015, and it sits about 19 kilometres from New Kingston, the capital's business district, connected by the causeway road that runs the length of the spit.

Caribbean Airlines operates its main hub at the airport, and the single runway also handles service from American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, British Airways, Air Canada Rouge, WestJet, Copa Airlines, Cayman Airways and InterCaribbean Airways, linking Kingston with North America, the UK, Central America and the wider Caribbean. In 2024 the airport handled about 1.78 million passengers.

A renovation completed in 2007 replaced the departures building and added a multi-level passenger pier with nine loading bridges, and the terminal now covers arrivals, customs and departures under one roof. Beyond the terminal, the airport backs onto the Palisadoes protected area, a stretch of mangrove and beach habitat between the runway and the harbour.
