Verona Villafranca Valerio Catullo Airport guide

Verona Villafranca Airport, also known as Valerio Catullo Airport, lies southwest of Verona in Italy's Veneto region, serving travellers heading to the city, Lake Garda and the wider Po Valley. It opened for civil aviation in 1961 and now operates a single 3,068-metre runway certified for Category IIIb instrument approaches, allowing landings in visibility as low as 75 metres.

Ryanair, easyJet, Wizz Air and Volotea anchor the low-cost network, while Air Dolomiti, British Airways, Jet2.com and TUI Airways add scheduled and charter routes across Europe and North Africa. Passenger traffic reached roughly 4 million in 2025, up close to 9% on the previous year, with aircraft movements topping 30,000.

The airport is owned jointly by regional and provincial governments across Veneto, Lombardy, Trentino and South Tyrol, and the same company also manages Brescia Airport. A 68 million euro terminal expansion, adding boarding bridges and extra security lanes, was underway through 2024 and 2025.
