Turin Airport Guide
Turin Airport occupies a site in Caselle Torinese, in Italy's Piedmont region. It opened in 1953 on the site of a former World War II airfield. The terminal was rebuilt for the 1990 FIFA World Cup and enlarged again ahead of the 2006 Winter Olympics, which Turin hosted. The airport carries the honorary name Sandro Pertini Airport, after the Italian president who served from 1978 to 1985.
SAGAT S.p.A. holds the operating concession; 2i Aeroporti is the majority shareholder. Passenger traffic passed 5 million for the first time in 2025, up from 4.69 million in 2024. Ryanair bases three aircraft at Turin as a focus city, and Wizz Air is due to open its own focus city there from September 2026. The airport won the ACI Europe Best Airport Award, in the 1-5 million passenger category, in 2007, 2008 and 2022.
A single asphalt runway, 3,300 metres long, serves all traffic. The Turin–Ceres railway line stops directly beneath the terminal, giving arriving passengers a direct rail link into the city without a transfer.
