Semnan Municipal Airport guide

Semnan Municipal Airport (IATA: SNX, ICAO: OIIS) serves the city of Semnan, the capital of Semnan Province in northern Iran. It lies about 10 km east of the city, a few kilometres beyond the Islamic Azad University campus, and is reached from the A83 highway. The airport sits at 1,134 m above sea level.

The airport has one asphalt runway, designated 04/22, which is 3,578 m long. After renovation it gained a passenger terminal and a separate arrivals building. Construction of the air traffic control tower was completed, and the tower began operating in summer 2011. The airport is owned by the Government of Iran and operated by Iran Airports Company.

Scheduled passenger service is limited. Iranian media have reported preparations for seasonal Arbaeen pilgrimage flights on the Semnan-Najaf route, though no schedule or airline has been announced. Some agribusiness operators also use the airport to move crops within Iran. Flights should be confirmed with the operator before travelling.
