Utila Airport guide

Útila Airport (ICAO MHUT) is the only airport on Útila, the smallest of the three main Bay Islands of Honduras. It sits about 1.6 km northeast of Útila town, so most visitors reach their accommodation within minutes of landing. The island lies roughly 36 km offshore from the mainland city of La Ceiba.

The airport has a single asphalt runway, 07/25, which is 1,300 m long. Approaches and departures to the northeast pass over the water. A VOR-DME navigation aid stands about 600 m south of the runway, and the field elevation is 29 ft.

Scheduled flights are short hops to La Ceiba, Roatán and San Pedro Sula on small turboprop aircraft, and private and charter flights also use the field. Because the schedule is small and changes often, confirm flight times with the airline before travelling. The passenger ferry from La Ceiba is the main alternative way to reach the island.
