Jyväskylä Airport guide

Jyväskylä Airport sits in Tikkakoski, about 20 km north of central Jyväskylä in the Finnish Lake District. It began as an air force base in 1939, and the first commercial flight left in 1945.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 12/30, which is 2,601 m long. A single passenger terminal, renovated in 2004, handles all civil traffic. The Finnish Air Force Academy has its main campus about 5 km away, and military flying makes up a significant share of movements at the airfield.

Finnair is the scheduled carrier, with flights to Helsinki. A public service obligation tender restored twice-daily Helsinki service from 31 October 2022. In 2025 the airport handled 28,321 passengers, of which 25,511 were domestic and 2,810 international. The Aviation Museum of Central Finland is next to the airfield.
