Zarzaitine - In Aménas Airport guide

Zarzaitine Airport, also known as In Aménas Airport, sits in the Sahara of southeastern Algeria in Illizi Province. It stands at an elevation of 563 metres, about 9 km east of the town of In Aménas. The ICAO code is DAUZ.

The airfield has two asphalt runways. Runway 05/23 is 3,000 metres long, and the secondary runway, 14/32, is 2,200 metres long. The long main runway suits large aircraft, which is unusual for a remote desert airport of this size.

Scheduled traffic is light and centres on Air Algérie. Its published routes link In Aménas with Algiers, Oran, Hassi Messaoud and Ouargla. The area is a hub of Algeria's oil and gas industry, and the airport serves workers and visitors travelling to the nearby fields.

The airport is managed by EGSA Alger, the public body that runs Algerian airports. Services in town are limited, so check flight times with Air Algérie before travelling and plan ground transport in advance.
