Houari Boumediene Airport is Algeria's busiest airport and the main international gateway for Algiers, the national capital. Located in the Dar El Beïda district, it sits approximately 20 km east of the city centre by road. The airport covers 850 hectares and operates two parallel runways of 3,500 metres each.

The facility handled close to 10 million passengers in 2024, placing it among Africa's ten busiest airports. Air Algérie uses it as a primary hub, while Tassili Airlines connects Algiers to domestic destinations. International services are provided by Air France, British Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, and around 20 other carriers.

A rail link opened in 2019 connects the airport to the El Harrach and Agha stations in central Algiers, with trains running every 30 minutes and the journey taking around 20 minutes. The airport was established in 1924 as Maison Blanche aerodrome and was renamed Houari Boumediene in 1980 after the former president of Algeria.
