Guilin Liangjiang International Airport guide

Guilin Liangjiang International Airport opened on 1 October 1996 in Liangjiang Town, roughly 28 km southwest of downtown Guilin, at an elevation of 174 metres. Its single runway, 01/19, runs 3,200 metres of concrete and is rated to handle wide-body diversions including the Airbus A380.

The current passenger terminal, completed in September 2018 at a cost of 3.26 billion yuan, replaced the airport's original 1996 building, which closed for renovation once the new facility opened. It handles both domestic and international traffic and was designed for 12 million passengers and 95,000 tonnes of cargo a year. The airport carried about 6.5 million passengers and recorded roughly 47,600 aircraft movements in 2025.

Air Guilin, the city's home carrier, anchors operations alongside China's major network airlines and a smaller group of regional international operators. Guangxi Airport Management Group operates the airport, which functions as the principal air gateway to Guilin's karst-mountain tourism region and the wider northern Guangxi area.
