N'Gaoundéré Airport guide

N'Gaoundéré Airport (ICAO: FKKN) serves the capital of Cameroon's Adamawa Region. It sits on the Adamawa Plateau at an elevation of 1,114 metres, which keeps the climate cooler than the coastal lowlands.

The airport has a single asphalt runway, 02/20, measuring 2,700 metres. That length is enough for regional jets and turboprops, and it is well beyond what the current traffic needs. The airport is state-owned and handles domestic flights only.

Camair-Co, the national carrier, is the airline listed on the route table. It flies to Douala and to Yaoundé Nsimalen. The airport recorded 24,117 passengers in 2022, so services are infrequent and schedules change. Check the airline before booking.

Ngaoundéré is also the northern end of the Cameroon railway line from Yaoundé, and the town is the main road and rail gateway to the north of the country. Travellers who miss a flight can reach the capital by train or road, though the journey takes much longer than the flight.
