Pichoy Airport guide

Pichoy Airport (ICAO SCVD) serves Valdivia in the Los Ríos Region of southern Chile. It lies about 32 km northeast of the city, near the Pichoy River, roughly halfway between Valdivia and Mariquina. The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) manages its infrastructure through the Dirección de Aeropuertos.

The airport has one asphalt runway, 17/35, 2,100 metres long and 45 metres wide. It sits at an elevation of 18 metres. The passenger terminal covers about 2,200 square metres, and a planned expansion would raise that to around 4,600 square metres.

Traffic is domestic. LATAM and Sky Airline fly the route to Santiago, with about 24 weekly flights between them. The airport handled 343,654 passengers in 2019, a 22 percent rise on the previous year. The MOP projects 650,000 passengers a year by 2043 and has tendered a terminal modernisation and a runway reconstruction.
