Chacalluta International Airport guide

Chacalluta Airport serves Arica, the capital of the Arica y Parinacota Region in Chile's far north. It sits about 18.5 km northwest of the city and roughly 1 km south of the Peruvian border. The airport has one asphalt runway, designated 02/20, at 51 m above sea level.

A new passenger terminal began operating in December 2024 after an investment of about US$80 million. It doubled the building from 5,352 m² to 12,184 m² and raised capacity from roughly 300,000 to 1 million passengers a year. The works brought the terminal to 16 check-in counters (three added), seven aircraft stands (three added) and 486 parking spaces (126 added), and also covered a new control tower, cargo terminal and facilities for the civil aviation authority.

Scheduled service is mostly domestic. LATAM, SKY Airline and JetSMART fly to Santiago, and JetSMART also links Arica with other Chilean cities. Boliviana de Aviación has flown to La Paz. The Sacyr and Agunsa consortium holds the concession to run the airport.
