Andrés Sabella Gálvez International Airport guide

Andrés Sabella Gálvez International Airport serves Antofagasta, the capital of the Antofagasta Region in northern Chile. It sits on the CH-1 coastal highway, 28 km north of the city and about 3 km inland from the Pacific. It was formerly known as Cerro Moreno Airport.

The airport is a civil and military facility. Along with passenger and cargo services, it hosts the Fifth Air Brigade of the Chilean Air Force. Its asphalt runway, 01/19, is 2,599 m long and 50 m wide. International flights are handled with police, immigration and customs services on site.

The airport operates under a public works concession awarded by the Ministry of Public Works in 2011. The passenger terminal covers roughly 7,982 m² and has three boarding bridges. A public car park holds 500 vehicles. LATAM, JetSMART and Sky Airline link Antofagasta with Santiago, La Serena, Concepción, Lima and Cali. The terminal is planned to grow from about 10,000 m² to 30,000 m² under a US$306 million investment.
