Webequie Airport guide

Webequie Airport (ICAO CYWP) serves Webequie First Nation, a fly-in Oji-Cree community in the Ontario far north. The airfield lies about 1.9 km south-southwest of the community and sits at an elevation of 209 m (685 ft).

The airport has a single gravel runway, 02/20, 1,074 m (3,525 ft) long. The Government of Ontario, through the Ministry of Transportation, operates it. No passenger statistics are published.

Webequie has no year-round road, so the airstrip carries the community's passengers, mail and freight through the year. Wasaya Airways flies scheduled services to Pickle Lake, Sioux Lookout, Fort Hope, Kasabonika Lake and Summer Beaver. North Star Air links the community with Thunder Bay, Fort Hope and Neskantaga. Schedules change by season, so confirm flight times with the airline before travelling.
