Wiarton Airport guide

Wiarton-Keppel International Airport (ICAO CYVV) sits on about 800 acres in Georgian Bluffs, roughly 2 km outside the town of Wiarton at the base of the Bruce Peninsula. The federal government built it in 1948 as an emergency airfield on the Toronto to Winnipeg air corridor. Transport Canada handed it to local ownership in 1996, and the township sold it to a private buyer in late 2021.

The main runway, 05/23, is paved and measures 5,033 ft (1,534 m) by 150 ft. A packed-gravel crosswind runway, 11/29, is 3,456 ft (1,053 m) long. The field has IFR approaches, a public apron, 100LL and Jet A fuel, and a human weather observer on site. It is a Canada Border Services Agency airport of entry, with seasonal customs service from May 1 to October 31, 09:00 to 17:00.

The airport serves general aviation, charter and medical flights for Grey and Bruce counties, and sits about two hours north of Toronto by road. Scheduled passenger service has been short-lived: flyGTA Airlines flew Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to Wiarton in 2019 on a Friday-to-Monday schedule. Confirm current flights with the operator before travelling.
